Jim Richardson

Jim has more than 40 years of experience in the health care industry. Prior to joining Vizient, he spent the last 30 years as a supply chain consultant in health care, working for health care distributors, providers, technology companies, and consulting companies to bring value to the health care industry.

As a consultant, he has managed a variety of successful supply chain projects in over 100 hospitals and IDNs in the US and Canada. As an industrial engineer and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Jim has analyzed and redesigned and streamlined business processes and logistics in clinical and non-clinical departments. He has also been a successful project management professional on many major implementations of supply chain software, hardware, and process redesign projects. His expertise also includes the design/layout of storerooms, warehouses, and Consolidated Service Centers. He is particularly experienced in logistics and inventory management solutions, including warehouse management systems and robotic order picking solutions.

Jim received his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA. He is a member of the Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM) and holds a Professional Engineer (PE) certification, as well as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) certification.
