Ajay Gupta is senior partner emeritus at McKinsey & Company. He brings 30 years of global experience and judgement across multiple health care segments. Gupta serves as chairman and non-executive independent director at Healthium Medtech; director at BJC Healthcare, director at OnPoint Surgical, board member at VIC Technology Venture Development; RAND Health Advisory Board, Innovaccer Advisory Council, as well as advisor to several private health care and technology companies.
Gupta led McKinsey’s Midwest Healthcare Practice and North America Medical Products Practice for many years. He has spoken and worked extensively on topics of strategy and growth, commercial excellence, M&A and industry consolidation, innovation, organization design and performance improvement. He served medtech, pharmaceutical, biotech, health systems and academic medical centers, drug store chains, PBMs, disease management, distributors, other intermediaries and service providers. His experience covers many of the product/therapy areas and specialties within health care.
Previously, Gupta spent five years at Schlumberger Wireline in Asia and Europe. He has a master’s in business administration from Stanford University where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar, and a B.Tech from IIT Delhi where he was awarded the President’s Gold Medal.
