Stacey Brennert, BSN, RN, COC, CIRCC, CHRI

Managing Director

Stacey Brennert, BSN, RN, COC, CIRCC, CHRI is a Managing Director in Kaufman Hall’s Revenue & Operations Improvement practice. As a healthcare leader and consultant for over 30 years, she is a deeply experienced professional nurse with an extensive background in the hospital revenue cycle, including revenue integrity, compliance, outpatient coding, charge capture and clinical staff education. Stacey is the clinical leader of our facility's outpatient clinical documentation integrity solution.

Stacey successfully works with leadership, clinicians, and coding staff at large academic and community-based hospitals across the United States, focused on improving clinical documentation to support coding and charge capture. She has worked to develop and implement outpatient facility clinical documentation improvement programs, providing education and support to hospital clinical staff and coding teams. Stacey is very successful in developing tools for the facility’s ongoing success.

Stacey’s nursing experience prior to facility outpatient CDI includes medical/surgical nursing, open heart surgery first assist, perioperative nursing, clinical educator, nurse consultant responsible for high-cost drug and implant carve-out reviews, DRG outlier payment validation, and medical necessity reviews. Stacey has held hospital leadership roles in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and Revenue Integrity.

Stacey holds a Diploma in Nursing from the Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Walden University. She holds certifications in outpatient coding and interventional radiology and cardiovascular coding from AAPC. She is also certified in Healthcare Revenue Integrity by the National Association of Healthcare Revenue Integrity.
