Sommer Miller, MBA, FACHE, EDAC

Senior Vice President

Sommer Miller is a Senior Vice President on Kaufman Hall's Strategy and Business Transformation team, with over 18 years of healthcare provider and consulting experience. She supports clients in reimagining care delivery models, patient experience, market strategies and built environments. Her expertise spans the care continuum and ranges from multihospital health systems to stand-alone critical access hospitals to ambulatory.

Prior to joining Kaufman Hall, Sommer held executive leadership roles at both Providence and Hospital Sisters Health System. She has led the development and implementation of short- and long-range strategic plans, capital management, advocacy, branding and physician alignment strategies, as well as space planning and design optimization.

Sommer is motivated by a deep commitment to revolutionizing the patient experience and access to care across the U.S. She understands the complex issues facing healthcare providers today and the need to pursue strategies that are both feasible and impactful. A strategist to her core, she leverages qualitative and quantitative data to develop solutions that produce real results for her clients.

Sommer is a board-certified Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and holds an MBA from Millikin University with a BA in environmental sciences from Illinois College. Sommer has also been accredited by the Center for Health Design in evidence-based design, showcasing her understanding of the interdependencies of clinical outcomes, patient experiences, operational efficiency, financial health and the built environment.
