Elizabeth Mack, MD, MS
Dr. Elizabeth Mack brings over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, specializing in pediatric critical care, quality improvement, patient and family engagement, patient safety and communication.
Before joining Kaufman Hall, she led quality and safety at the Medical University of South Carolina Children’s Health. Dr. Mack has served as chair of the Section on Critical Care in the American Academy of Pediatrics and president of the South Carolina Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is a host of the Society of Critical Care Medicine’s pediatric podcasts and a spokesperson for the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Mack is passionate about preventing complications of critical illness and has published extensively.
Dr. Mack holds a master of science degree in biostatistics, epidemiology and clinical effectiveness from University of Cincinnati, and doctor of medicine from University of South Carolina School of Medicine. She completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of South Carolina, and a fellowship in pediatric critical care at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She's a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Society of Critical Care Medicine and American College of Healthcare Executives. She's also certified in Just Culture, serves as a PALS instructor, completed the MUSC global health certificate program, and completed a fellowship at MUSC in clinical and translational research ethics.
