Brooke Balster

Brooke is a Senior Vice President in Kaufman Hall’s Revenue & Operations Improvement practice. She specializes in partnering with hospitals and health systems to improve operational efficiency and financial performance through sustainable strategies and solutions.

Brooke focuses on implementing revenue enhancement strategies that optimize hospital operations and the revenue cycle. Her expertise includes patient throughput, status determination, utilization management and denials management. She has worked with health systems across the country to improve processes, navigate change management and drive revenue growth.

Brooke has led large-scale engagements delivering measurable improvements and financial outcomes. Most recently, she led an engagement with a Southeast hospital system that generated over $60 million in incremental revenue through length of stay reduction and enhanced status determination.

Brooke holds a bachelor of science in finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She is Lean Six Sigma certified in healthcare and the co-recipient of the 2023 Helen Yerger/L. Vann Seawell Best Article Award for outstanding editorial achievement.
