Bart Richards

Bart is a Managing Director and a member of the firm’s Revenue & Operations Improvement practice. He specializes in healthcare performance improvement, including revenue cycle, denials, length of stay, observation management, managed care contracting, 340B and clinical variation reduction. He helps clients identify and implement revenue enhancement strategies. Bart has assisted several clients with the strategy, design, and implementation of revenue solutions.

Bart has worked with clients across the country to improve their performance. Some of Bart’s more recent experience includes working with a hospital system in the Southeast to achieve over $60 million in additional admissions through length of stay reduction and status determination; working with an urban-based teaching hospital to help them achieve approximately $200 million in benefit over the last 10 years; and leading an engagement with a major teaching hospital system in the Northeast on denials and patient status, leading to over $40 million in improvement.

Bart earned his MBA from the University of Chicago and a BBA in finance from the University of Notre Dame. He is a certified healthcare finance professional and an HFMA fellow.
