Consistently delivering high-value care takes committed and unified leadership, along with the right infrastructure. We design both interprofessional opportunities to help leadership teams build the confidence, skill and capability to lead their organizations successfully into the future, and profession-specific educational series. Vizient is an accredited educational provider for a variety of disciplines, including nursing, pharmacy, medical education for physicians, and quality professionals. We provide continuing education units for the majority of our programs.

Conferences, courses and workshops

Our education programs provide access to experts and tools for accreditation professionals and operational managers of academic medical centers, community hospitals and ambulatory care facilities. Our programs focus on Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS) Conditions of Participation and highlight requirements unique to certain voluntary accrediting organizations. In addition, programs are approved for continuing education credit.

Accreditation Professional Orientation Certificate Program

Our comprehensive educational program provides the knowledge and skill set participating members need to become more effective accreditation professionals. The program begins with an in-person, one and a half-day session, followed by four monthly webinars related to continuous readiness.

The program is led by Vizient accreditation leaders, as well as content experts from member organizations. Participants have access to mentors for one-on-one assistance and networking. To ensure a meaningful, interactive experience with program faculty and mentors, enrollment is limited to 25 participants per program class, and there is a participation fee. Our next available course is summer 2020 in Chicago.

Annual Accreditation Update Conference

Connect with accreditation professionals from across the country to review the regulatory revisions and news from the current year, as well as requirements on the horizon for the upcoming year. Participants have an opportunity to participate in interactive sessions with subject matter experts and peers to discuss pertinent findings from CMS and other accrediting organizations and agencies. Special focus sessions during the conference are presented on medical staff and life safety requirements. This annual conference is offered multiple dates, and there is a registration fee.
