Accreditation Education

Annually, Vizient® offers a program centered on the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Conditions of Participation (CoP). This program provides a focus on the health and safety standards that make up the foundation for improving quality and protecting the health and safety of beneficiaries as well as the cornerstone of the deemed accrediting body standards (The Joint Commission, Det Norske Veritas, Healthcare Facilities Accrediting Program, etc.).

Our featured speakers will be CMS, Director of Quality, Safety and Oversight Group, David Wright and Diana Scott, Senior Director, Accreditation Advisory Services, Vizient. We will also feature an organization who has undergone significant CMS survey and implementation strategies to address issues and sustain continuous readiness. This popular program will cover the current trends and challenges that health care organizations are facing as well as a deep dive into: the survey and certification process, specifically, a review of the currently revised validation process; the move to update some of the antiquated CMS CoP requirements; and an update on the issue of pain management as it relates to the opioid crisis. The second day, a Vizient panel of experts will discuss success strategies for addressing the latest CMS challenges with valuable solution strategies.
